About Houselink & Mainstay Community Housing

Houselink and Mainstay Community Housing (HLMS) is the product of the merger in 2021 of Houselink Community Homes (est. 1977) and Mainstay Housing (est. 1982).

HLMS is the largest supportive housing provider in Ontario and largest private non-profit housing provider in Toronto. We own approximately 1,000 units in 51 properties across the city, and we provide support to an additional 300 households in leased units.

Our mission is to advance equity, inclusion and the wellbeing of people who have mental health challenges through affordable and secure housing, services and leadership in the sector.

We are actively implementing a plan to transform our dedicated supportive housing portfolio to include mixed income communities that are inclusive of people living with mental health issues.

We seek to respond to the voices of our tenants in all we do. Our tenants are members of the organization and comprise one-third of our board of directors.
