The Learning Exchange

Housing Partnership Canada captured the types of business transformation strategies and activities undertaken by housing organizations in Canada and identified the organizational development and capacity required to facilitate transformation in two recent research studies. Business Transformation II Study: Research Bulletin and Business Transformation II Study: Final Report. The studies have garnered attention in the sector as they highlight the importance of core skill sets and competencies to drive and support business sustainability and ‘future proof’ the sector.

Among HPC’s work plan priorities in 2018 was the development of a Resources Toolkit to promote the outcomes of the research in support of the growth and transition of social and affordable housing sector in Canada; the Peer-to-Peer Learning Exchange (regional meetings) and its companion online “Learning Exchange” are part of the Toolkit.

Objectives:

  • Use the studies as a tool to demonstrate how to support the sector in undertaking transformation.

  • Increase profile and disseminate the business transformation research outputs across Canada.

  • Facilitate learning exchange between housing organizations and members of HPC.

  • Development of tools to promote a broader understanding of the external and internal drivers of organizational change, and the strategic position and adaptation of housing providers.

  • Build capacity and guide housing providers on how to sustain growth in their organizations.
